MONTGOMERY, AL - The Knights women's basketball team got their second win in their past three contests with a come-from-behind victory to beat the Faulkner Univesity Eagles 65-60. The win puts the team's record at 7-10 overall and 3-7 in SSAC play. The Knights were led by Kianna Delas with a game-high 21 points to go with 3 assists and 3 steals. Dexshalyn Polite scored 19 while Mariah Scott led the team with 8 rebounds.
The Knights jumped out to an early lead with a 6-0 run to open the game in the first 4:01 before the Eagles scored a point and held a 22-14 lead after the first quarter. The second quarter did not go as well for the Knights as they were outscored 16-5 and trailed at half by 3 points after taking more than 6 minutes of the quarter before scoring. The third quarter went the Knights way again with a 20-19 quarter and came to the start of the 4th trailing by 2. The Knights tied the game early in the fourth quarter twice before taking the lead for good with 7:10 remaining in the game on the way to outscoring the Eagles 18-11 in the final frame for the win.
The Knights will be on the road on January 24 and 26 before returning home to host Martin Methodist on January 31 at 5:30 PM.
