WEST POINT, GA - On a night when the men picked up their first victory of the season, the women's soccer team picked up their second straight win and third of the season to move to 3-3 on the year with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory versus the Point University Skyhawks (3-4) of the Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC).  Anna Hieronymus (FR/Arnsberg, Germany) assisted on both goals for the Knights giving her three assists on the season.

The Knights and Skyhawks battled through the first half until just over a minute left in the half when the Skyhawks broke the tie just in time to take a 1-0 lead at half and outshooting the Knights 8-4 in the half.  The second half was a different story for the Knights as they outshot the Skyhawks 10-5 and put in a pair of goals.  The first goal came in the 69th minute when Katina Karfakis scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Hieronymus to tie the game at 1.  The Knights broke the tie just 2:23 later when Hieronymus set up the Knights' leading scorer Sam Silva (SR/Eatonton, GA) for her 40th career goal and a 2-1 lead that Brooke Best (SR/Eastman, GA) and the defense made stick for the win.

The Knights will next play this Friday, September 22, against Life University in a game that was rescheduled from September 10 due to Hurricane Irma.  The Knights will be looking to extend their win streak they look toward just one more game before SSAC play starts on October 5 with a trip to Tennessee to face Bethel University and Martin Methodist.
