COCHRAN, GA - The Knights had their best offensive game of the year putting up 5 goals against NCAA DII and Peachbelt Conference member Georgia Southwestern State University for a 5-1 win on Friday night.  The Knights got a hat trick (three goals) from Sam Silva (SR/Eatonton, GA) and another pair from Jade Washington (SO/Gray, GA) to put up their onslaught while the Canes saw their lone goal come late on the Knights backup keeper.

The Knights scored their first goal just 2:45 into the game when Washington placed the ball in the back of the net.  The game remained 1-0 for the next 20 minutes when Kaitlyn Lefevre (SO/McDonough, GA) fed the ball in for Silva to get a header for her first of the game in the 22nd minute.  Silva took the lead to 3-0 on a sliding shot to beat the Canes keeper on a ball fed by Katina Karfakis in the 39th minute and that was the score at halftime.

The Knights took just 5:14 into the second half to add two more goals and extend the lead to 5-0.  Just 46 seconds in Silva earned her hat trick on a ball from Anna Hieronymus (FR/Arnsberg, Germany) for her 7th goal of the season.  Washington added her second goal of the game (3rd of the season) in the 50th minute unassisted.  Brooke Best (SR/Eastman, GA) played 70:31 of the game with 3 saves to earn the win.

The Knights will face Life University on Sunday the 10th at 1:00 PM at NeSmith Field weather permitting.  Check or on Twitter @MGAKnights for updates on Sundays game.
