LIMA, OH - The Knights followed the words of the words of the BeeGees and are "Stayin' Alive" in the NAIA Baseball Championship Opening Round as they won their second game of the day taking an 8-1 victory over MidAmerican Nazarene University to keep their title hopes alive.  The Knights did so on the arm of Jared Crews (JR/Sanderson, FL), who's hair could have him mistaken for one of the BeeGees yet did not get him on the "All-Flow" team for the SSAC.  Crews threw 9 innings and struck out 9 while scattering 5 hits, 2 walks, and one hit batter and giving up a solo home run as his lone mistake for the victory.  The Knights offense was led by Andy Mocahbee (SR/Calhoun, GA) who got the scoring started in the first with a 2-run homer (his 16th of the year) and later doubled home his 3rd RBI for his 8th RBI of the Lima Bracket.  Overall, the Knights had seven players with 2 hits each and totaled 15 hits in the game.

After the two runs in the first, neither team could get anything going until the Knights scored a run in the 5th when a wild pitch allowed Mikal Flores (JR/MacClenny, FL) to score from 3rd for the 3-0 lead.  The 6th was another scoreless inning and the 7th had a lone run driven in by Jesus Monserrat (SR/Warner Robins, GA) to give the Knights a 4-0 but Nelson Santiago hit a solo homer in the bottom of the inning for the only run of the game by the Pioneers.  Both teams went quietly in the 8th before the Knights doubled their run total in the 9th with 4 runs.  Monserrat tripled in Bryce Todd (SR/LaGrange, GA) then scored on Logan Smith (SR/Zebulon, GA)'s single.  Andy Mocahbee doubled home Smith.  After Luke Parks (FR/Perry, GA) came on as a pinch-runner for Mocahbee, Will Golden (SR/Waycross, GA) reached on an error by the Pioneers' third baseman to score Parks for the 8-1 lead.  Crews struck out two in the 9th around a bunt single and pop out to seal the game for the Knights and earn their 45th win of the season.

The Knights are now at 45-15 on the year and will need to defeat the host school, the University of Northwestern Ohio at 11:00 AM to keep their hopes alive for a Championship run.  The winner of the game will face Hope International University (Calif.) at 3:00 PM tomorrow and would have to defeat the Royals twice to win the Lima Bracket with the second game on Thursday the 18th at noon.
