Mobile, AL (December 29, 2016) – After a long holiday break and not have seen any game action since December 1 the Knights traveled to play the University of Mobile Rams. The Knights last game played before the break was the conference opener against Faulkner University which was a big victory for the Knights. The Rams entered tonight's game with a record of 3-2 and 1-1 in the conference and both looking to start off strong after the holiday break.
In the first half, the Knights would come out and establish a good pace and did not show any sign of rust from the holiday break. They were able to gain and maintain the lead at 14:50 left when they would go up 11-10. The Knights biggest lead would be at 10 points at 9:14 and 6:59 left in the first half. The Knights would go 12-27 from the field and 6-14 from downtown but would be out rebound 17-23. The Knights would enter halftime with a 4 point lead at 34-30.
The second half would be the Rams half and would see them make a run for the victory. The Knights would be outscored 39-43 in the second half and 13-33 from the field. The Knights though would be able to push the lead to 13 with 12:54 left in the second half. Regulation time would end with both teams tied at 73-73 and fans would be treated to extra basketball.
The Knights would not be able to find any rhythm in the overtime and would be outscored 4-12. The Rams were able to complete the comeback and push the Knights to 5-2 on the season and 1-1 in conference. Roshaun Milline (JR/Milledgeville, GA) would lead the Knights in scoring with 13 points and Cory Reid (SR/Decatur, GA) would finish the night with 12 points.
The Knights next game will be away on December 31 against Loyola University at 3:00 pm.
